ABOUT
It all begins with a vision: the dream of crafting an enjoyable space where people can savor excellent margaritas and food, immersing themselves in the atmosphere of a grand celebration. The concept for Nido took shape in 2012 when Silvia Hernández-Mccollow and Cory Mccollow inaugurated the doors of Nido.
Nido in Spanish means Nest, Nido served as the ideal intimate setting to kickstart their venture, concoct delightful cocktails, and foster connections within the Oakland community.
Nido’s Backyard pays tribute to the original Nido - Oakland's first margarita garden! Situated on the periphery of Jack London Square, visitors are guided by a rainbow serape into an outdoor oasis filled with plants. NIDO’s BackYard spotlights seasonal Mexican cuisine complemented by a thoughtfully curated selection of agave spirits and cocktails.
Our mantra is “Mi BackYard es su BackYard,” extending a warm invitation to everybody who wants to have a great time! Enjoy Oakland’s delightful weather (be it sunshine or the occasional rain!), margaritas, buenas vibras, and enjoyable moments in our BackYard.
¡Que comience la fiesta!
