  • NIDO's BackYard 104 Oak Street Oakland, CA, 94607 United States (map)

Join us for a hands-on workshop and dive into the rich traditions of Mexican printmaking! Whether you're a seasoned artist or a curious beginner, this workshop offers a perfect opportunity to explore the art of linocut printing and create your own unique masterpiece to take home.

Taught by the talented Eduardo Valadez Arenas, a Mexican-American artist from Mexico City, now based in the Bay Area, the workshop will guide you through the process of carving and printing a linocut design—no previous experience required. Eduardo's work is deeply influenced by his Mexican-American heritage and California’s vibrant pop culture, blending traditional printmaking techniques with street art, cartoon illustrations, and sign painting.

This workshop promises an enriching experience where you'll not only learn the technical skills of printmaking but also gain insights into the cultural significance behind the art form. Materials are provided, and you'll leave with your very own handcrafted linocut print!
